Lichter der Stadt

Since my mom likes Unheilig when I discovered it, she was the first to notify me. Unheilig has been one of my favorite bands since I heard “Geboren um zu Leben” (Born to live). They just came out with a new album called “Lichter der Stadt” (Lights of the City). The cover, I think, may be an actual city scene from Koeln/Cologne (home city). I live about 1.5 hours away from Cologne by train, and I love going there. xD

I so want to see them live. “Der Graf” (aka… The Count) is of course what defines Unheilig with his warm voice. It’s funny how this band can appeal to people all ages. Older people from this region have a knack for german schlager music whether people my age and younger like it or not, but the style of Unheilig is surpassing the generation boundary. If you have a preference for “to the bone”, with a little gothic/metal mixed in, this is a band for you.

The new Unheilig video

Just by accident I was thinking “hey I’d like to see that video of Geboren um ze Leben” once more. Seems their website has changed and now features the new video for another track from the new album “Fuer Immer‘ (Forever).

Guess where it was taped?? JAPAN. LOL. What a coincidence! Awesome.

I have to see a concert of these guys back home soon. They keep to Germany a lot, but just over the border would be doable?!
