Today Jin Akanishi let’s the world know:

You know what this means right? Fandom war. Yep. As much as I would like to sympathize with Jin and his buddies I think he’s underestimating what those remarks are going to do. If he’s actually fully aware then I think it’s quite childish. Some fans would describe that as very “Jinny”, but knowing full well you’re going to unleash WWIII is kind of childish.

Haters gonna hate. Everyone knows that lol.

Putting your army to work and threatening to self-destruct for a few assholes is not very regal, Jin.

Now I’ve even jumped into the tumblr boat. I must be nuts, where am I going to find the time to dump all the brainfarts I have and which site am I going to post it from? I have a Twitter, a Facebook page (which I rarely use because it’s my real name) and now a Tumblr. The worst part of it all: I don’t own a fancy phone to post on the move. That’s like being in the future without a fancy light sabre.

I feel like such a douche.

Sick and tired of AJAX and javascript libraries

You know those new type interfaces that got going as soon as AJAX and a multitude of javascript libraries came crashing down upon the web and webbased applications? Things like: the new google interface or how twitter works…

I honestly think it’s the most annoying crap I’ve ever seen. I understand the advantages, but why oh why must a new development end up in making the most unusable interfaces, delay screens, overlay screens and other such nonsense.

The word I’m looking for is OVERKILL. Everything that’s new in this field immediately ends up in total overkill until it implodes. Remember flash? Exactly, that’s what’s going to happen to this overkill in a year or two as well. Fast, effective, easy way to display information. Yeah right: until you cram every “snuff” known to man to make it completely impossible and irritating.

“Bad Request”. It’s been happening since a few days. I have this when the source feed is not entirely valid sometimes. I usually fix it by running it through Feedburner. Even feedburner says it’s a 400. What the hell did they change for my sidebar implementation to stop functioning?

I should have paid better attention to the last WP upgrade I did. Since everyone uses plugins to manage their twitter updates and I don’t, I’m clueless here. lol. Why for gods sake use a plugin for that? It’s not worth it if it’s 5 lines of code; provided it keeps functioning. However, I would never install a plug for something as simple as this. It’s supposed to work. Like the Last.FM rss in my sidebar. Same bloody code.

WTF AND NOW IT WORKS…. *looks sheepish*

So took the step of adding my twitter account to the sidebar as you can see *scroll down*. I must say I’m actually enjoying my account. I have much more quircky thoughts about things I read on J-Entertainment than I would and could ever write blog entries on.

Now all I need is some real followers. Come my little sheep, my name is Mary! Oh yeah sure you’ll have a lot of followers if you never delete the spam accounts that add themselves. ;_; So be sure to do an @JapanStarfish to announce yourself. I’m delete happy if I think it’s spam.

I never really saw the value of twitter to talk about myself like so many people on there, but finally I see some use for the application. During the day I keep updated on Johnny’s/JROCK/JDrama stuff by netvibes and my feed system (virtualjapan.net). When it comes down to it, I think I have an enormous bulk of short information to share with other J-fans. Call it the “tip off” hotline then. Usually when I’m away from home, I just forget what I needed to check out in the evening. So perhaps it helps against brainrot as well. I’m unsure if I can keep it up though.
