Any wordpress owner will know this one: “Striking brilliant post”… yak yak hyena. Meanwhile it says a strange URL in the name.

Think anyone will fall for that? Oh well, won’t be long now until the transformation is complete and spam becomes intelligent enough to fool even the most sceptic.

It seems that forums are being spammed big time, everywhere. I heard on the L’Arc forum, that the spam problem is not something I’m only dealing with from the last 4 weeks but it’s everywhere. Past 4 weeks have been a massive out break of some sort. There’s absolutely no way of stopping them anymore except ‘approval by admin’. That’s not a 100% failsafe, and you can actually deny users you want in because they picked names that remind you of spam.

So far I’ve been getting 30-40 approval requests: all spam accounts, every single day. I get those mails in and forward them directly to my trash bin. No more spamming my forum. Once every two days I check in, check the usernames, and thrash all that are suspicious. CAPCHA isn’t effective anymore, banning isn’t effective because there’s nothing fixed to check on, and so on.

Maybe, just maybe if you ban Russia, Latvia, Ukraine and the whole set of countries in that area your spam will decreased dramatically. They’ll find other IPs though, outside these countries.

I did a recent cleanup of user accounts on this blog too. We can thank the lord AKISMET is so effective because you’d have a major major problem if this wasn’t the case. Not only that, but to run WordPress spam free, you need to approve ‘at first comment’. So they can make user accounts as many as they’d like as long as they don’t get an approved first comment they can’t spam. It’s the only way these days. Wargh! What a pests. Vermin!

I ended up deleting hundreds and hundreds of users on this blog that were merely spammers and I see at least 1-2 registering each day.

It seems I forgot that I added 3 other people I trust to the administrator group, so they had been receiving “activation mails” as well. Not so good! So I demoted them to full moderator, this should hold off the e-mails. Then I think I can also stop e-mails by disabling ‘receive e-mail from admin’ in the profile. Hope that works, though I don’t really mind setting up a rule that all activation mails should be sent to a folder named “Straight back to Russia, not welcome without Vodka”.

Meanwhile the FUCKING FAGS of the Customs Office are now having fun with my L’Arc DVD in the backroom.

Jeeeesus; and it’s not like it’s 3 or 4 items either. Sniff it boys, does it have cooties? XD.

Stop mailing me weird peoples

This week I had some woman mail someone’s [a family members] salary information. I could see what this guy earned. So I wrote back to her and said that I think her e-mail ended up at the wrong address. I never had a reply. But since it contained very sensitive information, thought I’d do the right thing.

Today I got another e-mail of one of our senior citizens. They asked if I could send them coins for supermarket carts and/or pens with advertizing on them, because they’re collecting that. WHAT THE HELL? Did some company buy a similar domain of some sort? I’m getting e-mails by fellow Dutch peoples that should be disconnected. It’s like an e-mail that almost resembles spam. IP 77.250.34.113. I did a little research, somehow this one seems really random. I found multiple local sites they left the same message on (like guest books). I don’t think it’s a machine posting these messages. Wtf. Either it is a machine or that is really a senior citizen. E-mail didn’t contain any attachments, but it did contain an address. I just looked at google maps and it is an existing address in the Netherlands. rofl lol.

If you’re going to send me something, send me the user/password for your bank account. Get off the intarweb, you peoples are worse than spam! At least the spam I get still makes me laugh.

YEAH! One mailing list I’d rather not get unsubscribed from. lol.
