Ok. I don’t know if I’m supposed to be happy or cranky:
If my WordPress is even starting to tell me what to do, I guess I’m cranky. I guess I should have just clicked on ‘Dismiss’ to see if it would have dared to flash that orange beam at me again!

Oh well here’s a new one I’ve never experienced before. I was writing a post and I clicked on “Save Draft” as the image uploader was being a bitch again so I clicked out of it. After a long time of churning it gave a 500 error. You cannot get that little darling to disappear by restarting httpd or rebooting the entire server. There’s a couple of causes and remedies but for me it worked to delete the .htaccess and recreate it. It seems your htaccess can get ‘corrupted’. Right…
The file content was still exactly the same. It’s not like any of the contents were different because I checked it letter by letter. Of course, once you recreate it from the admin panel or ftp client it gets set to permission mode 644, which doesn’t allow WordPress to alter the permalink structure. I wonder if it goes spazz on me once I enable that again. Not only this blog went down, but Solstice Productions too, which is located in a subfolder and has its own htaccess. I didn’t need to replace the htaccess for that site, as soon as I replaced this one’s it was up again. Yep, that’s some strange shit.
