There were about 40-50 people present at that concert and about halfway in we all got hold of someone elses shoulders and did like a train xD. At some point we were brawling and dancing and two girls whom I’ve never met in my life before I just simply grabbed and they tagged along. There’s just something about small metal concerts that shows a unity, equality and a ‘no (wo)man left behind’ type of thing that I really like. Besides that, you see a lot of interesting people of all ages. lol. There’s always that 50+ couple enjoying the show in the back of the room, the even and odd freak, people of all races, some tattoo’d up to their necks, some neatly dressed people, etc. I think the word I’m looking for is ‘acceptance’. You don’t even need to dress the uniform to join in. Hell, I once saw a guy in khaki pants and a bright pink, extremely gay looking sweater with the college frat boy vest tied around his neck mosh like there was no tomorrow. lol.

^o^ I have no idea if they’re still active, but they should be. Start from Prime Specimen, go around Favorite Hateobject, War Incognito. There’s serious potential. It’s a band that’s in a stage that they would either make their top album next or fall back into invisible.

In any case, today I also cruised around some electro-pop/dance … I was turned off. If you have a pacemaker that’s why you choose that music I don’t know. If you can get over the metal vocals it just blasts everything.

BTW, entirely different genre, but I would like these guys to get off their ass and release something new too. I never listened to Mercenary’s new one, because I’m afraid to. Mikkel has found a new band though. *Waits for music*.

Can’t tell you which one is the best, I’m still listening. Mechina’s new one sounds promising though. Just enough usage of techy sounds + orchestra.

Next to that, the album I always thought was ‘too loud’ for me by Sybreed – namely their first – I’m now constantly listening to. Antares and The pulse of awakening are more accessible than Slave design. ReEvolution, Decoy, Synthetic Breed, Machine Gun Messiah, Take the red pill, Rusted. All of those A+ tracks and I never noticed until now.

Once you finish that list, that’s my blood and bones.

Came across Star One‘s new release “Victims of the modern age“. Now I actually prefer Arjen’s main project Ayreon, but anything by his hand can’t be ignored.

I managed to pick up a new name, too! James Labrie. Not a total fan of the voice so far, but the music is right. Melody with that rougher edge;) If it ditches the minor ‘rock-ish’ /nu sounds I’d be really happy :D It sometimes ticks me off. Listen for yourself [Static Impulse]:

Dimmu Borgir has a new one out [Abrahadabra]. I don’t give a crap most metalheads say “untr00″ and whatnot. At least it’s something you can listen to, instead of that random ear noise that’s usually called “black”. Though I have to agree to what most reviews said: over-orchestrated. There is such a thing as too much choir and orchestra. They need to get it back to where Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia was. In Sorte Diaboli and Death Cult Armageddon were also good albums imho. This one I’ll have to scratch the back of my head over for quite a while and then perhaps appreciate it…

I have no idea why I seem to like it, usually not so fond of the vocals on this type of music.

I must remember to poke friends to see what the brandnew Evergrey is like…
