L’7 Paris!

So first off, I’m completely legit in ripping you off, L’Arc~en~Ciel, because the fucking customs dicks are still holding my first press lim. edition of Live in Paris. As such, my first paragraph can only be: “ode to piracy”, which is why you managed to fil up the hall Le Zenith with 5500 of us whitey.

Certainly brought back memories seeing that again. Hyde’s voice was in 98% condition, if I have to say so. Only a few times I thought, neeeeh, a little too melodramatic. I actually almost enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the concert back then. This time, I wasn’t sweating my ass off. Every time a song came by I didn’t like, like HONEY or RSG I was too busy with myself trying to get my top loose from my back. And DANG, was it hot in there.

hyde_larcparisThe thing I always liked less is that the entire MC was in French. By God, I could understand them better than actual french people. Possibly the same barrier: not being able to speak 100 words in 1 minute. Honestly, didn’t they get by now they were only singing to 1/3rd of actual French people and 2/3rd’s of people all across Europe that came to Paris especially to see them? Apparently it’s pretty hard to comprende, there’s a certain Danish melodeath band who also had a hard time following there’s people from everywhere specifically for them and not the main act so they followed us outside XDDD. The magic intarweb, oh if I could marry “it”, I would. My ideal husband, up until 2002. Then we got divorced because of spam (or a russian mail order bride).

In any case, L’Arc has a very special place in my heart. No matter how much I grow older and sometimes grow apart from this band – when I hear their music – I’m always all ears. I could have cried when they played my favorite Kasou. I’m still more a fan of ‘old-style’ L’Arc, and after SMILE I was really happy they brought back some of that same sound. Forbidden Lover was especially brilliant.

Now let’s talk about the audience, some. I nearly shat my pants. I didn’t know I was part of that audience! The h00t, was not the gals, it was the guys! Guys were a huge part of that audience compared to what I’ve seen on Japanese concert dvd’s of L’Arc! Either that, or they took a real effort at filming:

a. The Japanophile Virgin: oh yes, you know this guy. He was online when you were in your diapers and now he’s still a virgin, wishing he could wet gurls panties the way Hyde does.
b. The Metalhead unsure of his sexuality: I’m sure these guys only go to “men in tights” (power metal) concerts and that’s why they ended up at a L’Arc concert. Though, I’ve never actually seen vaguely metal types prancing around like goblins at a Paris fashion show.

Any of you guys that are actually straight @ that L’Arc concert, please, do call. lol.

Oh yeah, and then there’s the fact we do the \m/ devil’s horns quite a lot more frequently than the Japanese audience does (or is it my imagination?). Well, we’re not that potty trained yet with the whole synchronised swimming stuff, so that gesture is just about what’s left. I also think we did a pretty good job at loudly singing Anata in a language most of us don’t know for squat. Heuy, leave it to Eurotrash, we don’t get this crap but sing it we can.  XDD

^_^ All in all, a memorable concert. Now let’s hope nobody stole my copy of this DVD and that it is still going to arrive.

So now I finally know what happened to Ken during the show in Paris. He was walking right in front of the thing shooting out some stuff.

That was a pretty serious burn too!
