Mr. Brain

I watched both episodes last weekend and I must say I’m amazed at my ability to understand so much. It depends on the series though. Sometimes I get more than other times. Lazy me will still go for subs if the groups will do them, but this one I attempted without any. I think I get about 75% of what is actually said on average, so I get the full storyline now. Mind you that I can’t speak a word of proper Japanese nor read them squiglies because I always forget what I learned. As long as I can understand though, I’m happy. lol. RESCUE is a bit easier to watch without subs than Mr. Brain. So finally, after casually watching 7 years of Japanese tv shows, drama’s, anime and whatnot it pays off. I can at least piece together the full meaning of each scene. I will probably remain completely lost on shows like HEYx3 though.

At the beginning of the series I thought wtf, I thought he was supposed to be Brainiac and I see the most epic fail host walking around. I’d never thought I’d say this but Mizushima Hiro blends with the wallpaper because Kimura is just lots more interesting to look at haha. Admitted, the role of PA to a grumpy sempai doesn’t really invite for much interesting. The guest of Gackt on episode 2. He is such an over-actor. lol. In some ways that makes him good, and in other ways it’s just a tad over the top. Think “Evil and Insane”, Gackt is your man though. I just could not get over the fact how perfectly pearly white his teeth are. These are not the teeth of a serial killah that eats chunks of his victims, including his own finger! The eskimo kiss in episode 2 was hilarious (screencap). Now the big question is, how is Kame going to do in the guest next saturday? Doctor Kame!

A visit to insights

I was looking at google insights today to check out some popularity stats of our boys. On 山下智久 I got a recent article from here. Tomapi is gobbled up everywhere! It seems like a pretty popular site to be ranked next to the stats. Second button from your left is the Johnny’s archive of posts. As for Cupcake’s popularity? It’s dropping to the same level it was back in 2004. It’s not long now before the rest of the world starts to follow [Japan sets the trend]. I wonder if his new drama is going to have any impact at all? Will know that in a couple of months time.

Also, google now shows the full extent of Tsuyobuns park adventure:

I’m not sure Yamacupcake knows this but during the Kurosagi days he actually beat #1 a couple of months:

I may receive the anger of Kimutaku fans, but there ya go. More proof to me he needs to change his hair color to black again and engage that type of drama. lol. I actually have an entire conspiracy theory on why his hair has reverted a few years in history: it’s because he was starting to look out of place in NEWS. That aura was that strong, it annihilated the group sugarpop happy thing they usually have going on. I think this does not hold the larger audience.
