I want a Japanese name, they’re totally more interesting. My real name is a derivative of this. The last name has it’s roots in this name. Can’t take away any Nordic remnents of vikingness or christianity from that, or any Greek-ness. καθαρός (katharos) = pure. A lot of names are derivatives of Greek. Mite be bankrupt, but a lot of people have names like that!

But, according to this site, I can have a Japanese name:

中島 Nakashima (center of the island) 幸代 Sachiyo (generation of blessing).

It’s not like I can ever complete a sentence on my own, but as long as I can understand my drama’s I’m happy.

Which basically means I study around 1000 items per month. *_*… ai chihuahua this is a lot. As long as I like it I’m serious business when learning.

I should pick up on sentences though, knowing words isn’t the same as being able to speak Japanese. I can garble a few words together though… probably understandable but in the wrong order probably.

Also, when I press F5 to reload the score, mastered items often only works on a second attempt.

Oh well! It’s still the best site I’ve seen when it comes to online learning.

iKnow usually starts with Japanese -> English, which I remember way too quickly. Then when it’s time to point out the Kana, I don’t remember the Japanese word. After that, I still have trouble writing it.

If it would actually let me I would have completed a lot more. “You can’t study any more items today”. STFU. How do you know my brain capacity? How? But it’s actually good that it stops you, that’s how I forget everything after 2 weeks. Hopefully now that it’s holding me back the input is going to stick.

What I really like is the game “Brainspeed”.

I could play that game for hours on end.

Learning languages isn’t very difficult for me, math however… could be a challenge. lol. I also dislike my mother tongue, especially to write in. I’d be writing a sentence and then forgetting the Dutch word for something and the English is right there. Never ever have that the other way around.

Unfortunately I think I’m forgetting the katakana alfabet. It’s because if you only know 1 from the word, you can still guess it right. haha.

I guess it’s because in Dutch you really let your consonants rip~. If you’re not explicitely spitting those out, you’re not doing it right. It’s the reason why a Dutch accent on English sounds far far worse than any Engrish I’ve heard. In English, Dutch with a heavy accent will literally slow down their talking automatically so they can explicitely vomit up the consonants. Remember the 3pm problem?

After this piece it gets a little too hard to write down within 5 seconds as I forced myself to do. The word “Kiokusho” I recognized as extremely important I got right, so I JDIC’ed it. The thing I hate most is when there’s males talking. It’s easier to understand females. Maybe that’s just me. If it really goes too fast I can usually piece together what the intention is, a general thought about the scene meaning if you will.
