Black Comedy

Out of all the new bands I’ve come across in the last year, I think I want this one to release a new album the most:

^o^ I have no idea if they’re still active, but they should be. Start from Prime Specimen, go around Favorite Hateobject, War Incognito. There’s serious potential. It’s a band that’s in a stage that they would either make their top album next or fall back into invisible.

In any case, today I also cruised around some electro-pop/dance … I was turned off. If you have a pacemaker that’s why you choose that music I don’t know. If you can get over the metal vocals it just blasts everything.

BTW, entirely different genre, but I would like these guys to get off their ass and release something new too. I never listened to Mercenary’s new one, because I’m afraid to. Mikkel has found a new band though. *Waits for music*.

Acquired a specific taste for a genre in metal

Through the years I’ve tried all sorts of metal. It’s now extremely clear to me which type I like best. I always thought it could be merely defined as “melodeath”, but there needs to be a specific component to make it even more special to me next to retaining melody ♥! It’s industrialized sounds. Not in the sense that it’s industrial metal, because a lot of bands in that genre are close to “gothic/black” and too “electronic”. I mean Cyber/Industrial/Melodeath or Meloblack without the gayness factor! Granted, I do like the gayness factor of it occasionally. Think about bands such as Deathstars. They’d qualify for that category. I truly mean: Sybreed, Fear Factory, Herrschaft, Mechina, Mnemic, Fear of Domination, Kryoburn. I mean rrrrraw bleeding powarrrrrrr enhanced with a little techy sound, brutal vocals – preferably mixed with regular singing. And if you’re really doin’ it rite: drums faster than I can count and a guitar solo that you rewind back to just so you can hear it again.

I’ve added these albums recently:

Can’t tell you which one is the best, I’m still listening. Mechina’s new one sounds promising though. Just enough usage of techy sounds + orchestra.

Next to that, the album I always thought was ‘too loud’ for me by Sybreed – namely their first – I’m now constantly listening to. Antares and The pulse of awakening are more accessible than Slave design. ReEvolution, Decoy, Synthetic Breed, Machine Gun Messiah, Take the red pill, Rusted. All of those A+ tracks and I never noticed until now.
