Went to a concert

^o^ and it was fun! We went to see Saltatio Mortis yesterday. I would say, a relatively unknown German folk ‘spielmänner’ band. It was in a really small venue, so it’s usually triple the fun. Metal is not like any other types of concert, really. The interaction with the audience is usually a lot more visible and the people itself are just like one big happy family.

Here’s a semi-ok live video. The bagpipes sound shriller on video than it was yesterday though.

There were about 40-50 people present at that concert and about halfway in we all got hold of someone elses shoulders and did like a train xD. At some point we were brawling and dancing and two girls whom I’ve never met in my life before I just simply grabbed and they tagged along. There’s just something about small metal concerts that shows a unity, equality and a ‘no (wo)man left behind’ type of thing that I really like. Besides that, you see a lot of interesting people of all ages. lol. There’s always that 50+ couple enjoying the show in the back of the room, the even and odd freak, people of all races, some tattoo’d up to their necks, some neatly dressed people, etc. I think the word I’m looking for is ‘acceptance’. You don’t even need to dress the uniform to join in. Hell, I once saw a guy in khaki pants and a bright pink, extremely gay looking sweater with the college frat boy vest tied around his neck mosh like there was no tomorrow. lol.

It was fun!

Sterneneisen: the first that is less of?

I’ve been a fan of In Extremo since forever so I was delighted to see they’ve got another album. It’s called “Sterneneisen”. After listening to it I have to come to the frightening conclusion: it doesn’t compare remotely to the In Extremo I know. It’s gone down to the Subway to Sally’s, Saltatio Mortis of this world and actually – these bands are improving. *sigh* I’m not saying it’s bad, but it’s the same thing you know. The same thing in a mediocre way. Ich liebe das letzte Einhorn, also, this surprises me. It won’t be the first time I get to appreciate an album, but mostly that’s reserved for freaky pop songs from the East if you know what I mean.

Zigeunerskat reminds me of a previous song… “die so laut wie hunde bellen”. I know for sure that piece of text appeared somewhere else; on a different song. Then, Zauberspruch No. VII which is similar to any version of Merseburger Zauberspruche… it doesn’t even compare to the quality.
