Music of the West. Hold the pet shop boys, will you?

Made of win: Ziltoid

A while ago I discovered a Townsend album that’s been laying around for ages. I never quite noticed how epic it is until now. At first, I thought only the intro was funny but the entire album is made of win.

Someone made this on a severe hangover at 10am in the morning, still high on drugs. I’m convinced of this! It’s nerdy, pokes fun and absolutely ‘dry’. I feel like playing it every morning when I go back to work. lol.

:mwahaha:

Ziltoid’s preoccupation with coffee!
Using the planet smasher!
Indeed, what is up with these gay names for coffee? /tall_latte

:voyeur:

[Ziltoid:] Commander…
[Commander:] Yes Captain Ziltoid!
[Ziltoid:] Have the humans delivered their ultimate cup of coffee?
[Commander:] I have it right here, sir.
[Ziltoid:] Yes…
[Ziltoid drinks the coffee]
[Ziltoid:] FETID! How dare they present this to me! FOUL! They hide their finest bean! Prepare the attack!

So here it is, Ziltoid’s glory (lyrics):

Sterneneisen: the first that is less of?

I’ve been a fan of In Extremo since forever so I was delighted to see they’ve got another album. It’s called “Sterneneisen”. After listening to it I have to come to the frightening conclusion: it doesn’t compare remotely to the In Extremo I know. It’s gone down to the Subway to Sally’s, Saltatio Mortis of this world and actually – these bands are improving. *sigh* I’m not saying it’s bad, but it’s the same thing you know. The same thing in a mediocre way. Ich liebe das letzte Einhorn, also, this surprises me. It won’t be the first time I get to appreciate an album, but mostly that’s reserved for freaky pop songs from the East if you know what I mean.

Zigeunerskat reminds me of a previous song… “die so laut wie hunde bellen”. I know for sure that piece of text appeared somewhere else; on a different song. Then, Zauberspruch No. VII which is similar to any version of Merseburger Zauberspruche… it doesn’t even compare to the quality.
