KPOP is only good when it sells out?

Jun

2010

I was checking out KPOP bands as my friend Snowmyth has a mild tick lately. lol. SS501 still can’t charm me except for an occasional song, but there’s no member to go crazy for.

The current big hit is of course BigBang and once again I have to come to the conclusion it’s only becoming good if they’re starting to sing in Japanese. Songs like My Heaven, Koe wo Kikasete, all sung in Japanese but they’re the ones that stand out. Exception being Haru Haru. Oh! And the IRIS theme song.

The Korean stuff seems too pretentious by BigBang. Too much low pants, shizzle and bullshit (read: I seriously hate hipsnot). Unfortunately the member I like best, namely G-Dragon has that tendency a lot, on crystal/ crack.

Then I remembered: there’s also T.O.P. to like. Guyliner, it just simply rules, what can I say?

Completely the other way around from TVXQ which just seemed to better in their native language, I mean non-pants sagging flaming b/s. Let’s just say they’re on the correct way. I guess it’s the hipsnottish background that I dislike more than the language betrayal that usually takes place. I like my kpop bands to sing in Korean as a Dutch girl. Why? I don’t know the hell why. Just seems like the natural thing to do.

A name I never heard about before is 2PM, which youtube served me. Interesting videos. But nothing really catches my interest other than that.

And there’s of course Super Junior, who TVXQ once promoted. That group is too big, it doesn’t make any sense and it’s not shiny.

A big name in KPOP is probably Se7en. Been hearing about that everywhere. I did not get happy by watching this vid:

Big Bang is my favourite. I second you that sounds better when it’s japanese. When I started to hear Big bang I’ve lost my interest in groups like Kat-tun and News haha Big Bang is to much better, to me has no comparison.

I loved their solo works too. G-Dragon is so cool. Tae yang is a wonderfull dancer and TOP looks amazing too. To me they’re really talented.

      LOL

Actually, I left BIG BANG fandom (the only kpop group I’ve ever had any interest in…kpop is SO boring) for J&A fandom.

I love their originality, their concerts, their epic fail-ness, their awesomeness…. they just wow you XD

I haven’t heard more than 2 songs of Big Bang. I only know one G Dragon song, Heartbreaker. I love that song. Someone on Arama introduced it to me when I asked why did they call him the male Lady Gaga.

As for Se7en. I only heard his English stuff. He has better English than Jin imo. I actually first knew about him only from Kitagawa Keiko listing him as one of her favorite artists and he was probably the only Asian one. As far as I can remember. So naturally I got curious I am guessing Keiko likes his Japanese stuff though? His songs Girls is catchy, with lulzy lyrics though. I like “Money Can’t Buy Me Love”. I don’t know I like hearing him sing English more than Jin or Yamapi and I love Yamapi to death. It’s too bad they finally got Rodney Jerkins to work on board with him and he had to leave his U.S attempt. If anything he may not be superior but he seems more fitted there than his fellow Kpopers BoA, Wondergirls, etc. I sound like a Se7en stan but I’m not. I only know like 3 songs from his English releases. ahahaaha I hardly know anything about him. But I do think he’s good.

Also I DON’T LIKE RAIN!!! While we are talking about Koreans I thought I’d just throw that out there.

RAIN yes that was a name I missed but still managed to catch here and there in the last years.

I really like the dance routine on this one though:

      Same with this:

While I hardly think I could fan this guy, I really like the dance. The absence of hipsnot also helps.

lol I don’t remember much about BB but other than Koe wo Kikasete, I really liked Lies too. They’re the only BB songs I’ve looped.

Se7en was my first Asian artist. Stuff like Passion and Crazy
