No more revisions and autosave!

When I was getting back a post from my archive I recently deleted I noticed that more than half of my rows in the wp_posts table were actually ‘revisions’! Look at it:

The total is just over 5500 posts, and over 75% of that was junk. The only other thing to do besides running the above query is adding these lines to your wp_config:

What you’ll also notice now is that my cleanup has brought speed back for the actual serving of webpages as well. And not a little faster, a heck of a lot faster!! Hurray!

I always hated that revision and autosave function, why didn’t I take action before? It’s apparently for people who are really good at loosing their work. In the years I’ve used WordPress that maybe happened 10 times? And that’s about 3 years. I’ll take my chances!
