I was there, but I missed a lot

Dec

2009

As the days go by I keep looking up more and more stuff for my trip to Japan next year. It turns out almost every surf round I go “hey, I was there and I missed that”. Mostly from either not being able to tell what something is or just not knowing there is something right around the corner that’s interesting.

I’m pretty much dividing my plans into wards and go to the most well known districts. Somehow that’s still pretty difficult and confusing since different tourism websites order it in different ways. Nobody keeps to the same set of districts & wards which leaves me to look up a lot of things in terms of where they’re actually located.

Minato ward is such a place. You could amuse yourself in Odaiba for a full day alone, so if you take that district out there’s Roppongi, Aoyama, Akasaka, Shiba where there is the most stuff to do. Go to the top of Aoyama, there’s Omotesando and you’re almost in Harajuku.

Not all wârds have decent websites, but check this out, Minato’s got an entire database set up. Yum yum’s input.
