I got the OKAY today of my manager to book in this year. So~ it won’t be long now before I start booking so I can get on with detail planning. I’m planning to book directly with the hotel since I gave the hotel clerk a B- for English. PASS. LOL. Though I’m sure the rest of the online reservation system will be an adventure to get through.
I figure it’s the only way to get the room I want, because booking sites generally take one or two rooms out of what a hotel offers and then add a few euro’s a night OR they are high class hotels that aren’t fully booked and who ‘sell their rooms’ to strange and fluctuating rates that may be even 1/3rd of the price less then it mentions on their websites. How the booking sites earn their buck on that one I don’t know.
I’m fine with a room that’s preferably >19 square meters (though not necessary) and if it looks out to something other than a brick wall. You can get an idea on what sizes rooms are if you go to the hotel website itself. It’s not always mentioned on booking sites. Unfortunately, if there’s 3-4 types of rooms offered close in the price range you have no idea what you’re getting if you book with a booking site because you can’t relate it to the hotel rooms on the site itself. Then lastly the view. Supposing hotels themselves don’t actually exaggerate, like, wanting to keep customers…. There’s two possibilities. Either the rooms on particular floors are more expensive (higher up, larger in size and such) OR a room mentioned as being a corner room which comes with an additional fee you have to pay to enjoy the view.
As for the plane ticket, I’m still doubting which one to fly: I guess I’m going Japan Airlines if possible but I might choose KLM.
