For crying out loud…

Nov

2009

I just checked for hotel availability again because I’m nervous about my preferred joint, and what do you know: GONE. Either all rooms are gone, or the entire option is gone or whatever. I have no clue. It doesn’t matter which time I fill in, the room is never coming back. I HATE THAT. I want to finish some planning first please, because I’m still doubting about the period I’ll be going for. No use to book a hotel room and then putting change upon change, so you can only get mistakes in the end.

Can anyone that uses booking sites tell me what the hell is going on? It’s almost like “a new round, new chances to get the cheapest possible deal for your room”. If you check the actual hotel rates at the hotel website itself it’s sometimes DOUBLE the amount listed on these booking sites. I took care not to choose ‘just any’ booking site, but am still quite confused where this comes from. So … what, if I wait it out rooms might become available again for a price I can afford? Not only that, but room prices just went up too.  How does this work, I’ve never used this before?

My parents have zero experience with this either so as usual I’m on my own trying to figure it out. I now went to another ‘more trusted’ booking site to see what’s up and they did change it there as well. Additionally I found out they have much more hotels available there. Unfortunately and as always, they don’t list the types of rooms the actualy hotel has. What the fuck is going on with that? If a hotel website says “we got 5 types of rooms” and I’m just served with 1 type of room on a booking website…. why why why WHY? Why is there only that one room? It isn’t even on special offer or something, why?
