Summer drama preview

It’s time to see what’s going to be aired in Summer! I’ve included the plot in ‘one-liners’, which may not always give the right impression, but as always you can always look the titles up in the dramawiki to check them out for yourself.

Koishite Akuma [Vampire Boy]
plot: “A boy who is a vampire falls for his homeroom teacher”.

I’m not going to watch this… sounds horribly Japanese.

Buzzer Beat
plot: “Looser-like office worker with girlfriend, falls for another man’s girlfriend. Oh yeah, and basketball”

Since Yamashita Tomohisa is in this, I will watch. I have talked about this drama before on this blog. My hopes are not high. Perhaps it will be easier to be impressed this way.

Akahana no Sensei
plot: “Ambitious teacher fails, jealous of another teacher.”

Might be fun, though I don’t think they’re succesfully going to stretch that concept over 10-11 episodes… I’ll give it a shot if I see it.

TEIOH
plot: “Guy gets his girlfriend taken away by a host, then he decides to become a host as well”

A bit more promising as Akahana no Sensei, but I’m not sure about the concept being able to stretch 10-11 episodes either.

Futatsu no Spica
plot: “5 teenagers train to be astronauts”

That plot sounds so weird, I’d just have to see one episode of that.

Dandy Daddy?
plot: “Novelist with a daughter goes overprotective”

Might check it out.

Ninkyo Helper
plot: “What’s wrong with being naked?” (I’M JUST KIDDING!). The real one: Yakuza boss sends his goons to help in a nursing home.”

Holy shit, that sounds like total crack. I want to see how much this fails. Good luck Tsuyoshi. They should have just made a drama out of “spoiled idol goes naked in park”.

Saru Lock
plot: “Boy fails with girls but is an excellent lock picker, takes on dangerous cases”

This one stars Ichihara Hayato. Is on my watch list by default. I wonder if it’s finally a role where he doesn’t have to act angry or macho. We know by now he gets those down to a tee.

Call center no Koibito
plot: “Succesful city boy gets sent to rural call center”

I actually have seen a Hollywood movie that has exactly the same story. Only there the guy gets sent to India.

Haken no Oscar
plot: “Mangafreak decides to create a small corporate revolution in the recession”

Fail. Next!

Orthros no Inu
plot: “Wicked man who has the power to heal meets gentle boy who has the power to kill”

Tackey and Ryo in the same drama. I usually detest Ryo’s drama’s as much as Nino’s but for Tackey I’m watching.

Maid Deka
plot: “Undercover maid”

Oh hell no… you’ve got to be kidding me.

Kochira Katsushika-ku
plot: “Middle aged police man story”

Probably good to watch if you like Katori Shingo.

Karei naru spy
plot: “Swindler becomes part of spy agency”

Nagase Tomoya. That’s about all there is to this drama.

Saisei no Machi
plot: It has no plot? But set in the future.

I had to raise an eyebrow over the description. Can they really make a drama out of that?

Otomen
plot: “Kendo fighter who likes sweets, sewing and cooking falls for a girl”

Huh?

Kanryotachi no Natsu
plot: “Politics after WW.”

*Yawn*

I’ve decided on Orthros no Inu, Buzzer Beat, Saru Lock. Weak season by the way.

Now scored 90 on JLPT 4

So I improved 10%? Next time should be flawless… right. I actually have found a way to study Japanese without having to focus on the Kanji as well. I’m just writing words from Kana -> Romaji (totally ignoring kanji). Now that I’ve heard Japanese for 7 years in 99% of cases I know how they will say it.

Unfortunately I think I’m forgetting the katakana alfabet. It’s because if you only know 1 from the word, you can still guess it right. haha.
